We aim to produce an industrial UD tape with a clean, environmentally friendly process fully reusable compared to many existing products and methods.
UD-Automated B.V.
UD-Automated (UDA) is the newest venture of Dutch composite veteran Rinus Prins and partners, based in IJsselmuiden, Netherlands. UDA has developed innovative technology for excellent fibre spreading and impregnation. The process is robust, without unforeseen stops, and delivers an economical tape solution without compromising quality.
What drives us
Our goal includes processing waste plastics in the line, helping reduce global waste, even easing the Pacific garbage patch burden.
Up to 1200 mm width with a design that can double or quadruple while maintaining quality.
Decades of composites experience from sailing yachts and wind energy blades to UD-A carbon tapes for automotive programs now focused on thermoplastic UD-A carbon tapes.
New impregnation technology
The UDA production method is based on a direct melt-impregnation technique, where the polymer is fed to the impregnation unit by an extruder capable of formulating a wide variety of polymer blends and compounds. Before meeting the polymer melt, the fibres are spread under controlled high tension. This impregnation method is unique and forms the heart of our technology. (Patented)
- Direct melt impregnation
- Controlled high-tension fibre spreading
- Extruder-fed polymer blends & compounds
- Robust, continuous process
- Scalable to 1200 mm
